THIS made my day...

In a weekly group email from my good friend, Elder George, I read something that put a (big) smile on my face. Read for yourself:

"Well this has been a really interesting week. I don't remember if I told you but a few weeks ago, I had a bird poo on me. Then on Monday, I had an egg thrown at me. We were just waiting for a bus to go back into the flat for the night. We were talking and laughing and having a good time, when a car came driving by and they threw an egg out of the car and it hit me in the back.
Elder Robison and I had a good laugh about that. How I am always the one get hit by something. First the bird poo then, the egg. I guess I have had everything hit me that is from a bird. I wonder when the whole bird is going to come and hit me next? Elder Robison and I talked it over and we figured out what really happened. A guy and his friend had just gone to ASDA and bought an egg. The passenger of the car was playing with the egg. Tossing it back and forth between his hands singing, ' I love my egg, I love my egg.' When the driver asked him a question which distracted him for a split second and he missed the catch. The window was open and the egg went flying out and hit an unexpecting victim. (that would be me) That is why we heard a noise come from the car. It was really he yelling 'Oh no!' from losing control of his egg. That poor man. I wish I knew who it was so that I could give him another egg to play with."

I know you must be thinking, "What optimism!" (Just like I was) But, I was also thinking,

"I miss Richard.."

and now you know why.

Richard even let me beat him up... once.

Take me Home, Country Road..

JT and me.. we really really really really
hope that we can call this home very very very soon.

I can't wait to: paint, decorate, arrange furniture, hang pictures, make Sunday breakfasts, organize, and make dinner for my husband.

Jared can't wait to: wash his car in the driveway, stargaze (we're quite in the middle of nowhere, I'll have you know), shop at Costco, build our food storage, and set up our TV and Ps3.

(Please blame the title of this blog on my good friend, Curtis. He loves John Denver.)

How to Avoid Thank-You Note Hell

Step 1: Grab your address list
Remember when you (or a family member) [my mom] gathered your guests’ names and addresses when you sent off those wedding invites? Grab that list so you don’t have to backtrack. If you can print them off your computer with a label-making program, half of your work is done already!

Step 2: Get your gift-givers straight
Most gift registries keep a master list of who gave you what, so print out a copy. For all the people who went off your registry, the sooner you jot down what they gave you, the better (before postwedding brain freeze sets in). [it has]

Step 3: Divide and conquer
Split up the task with your spouse during commercial breaks [during the Jazz game] (have him do his friends and family, and you do yours). Try for 10 a night. [I did 11 on Sunday, sucka.] Is one of you on a writer’s strike? At least agree to sign the card so both of your names are there. Hint: The person who doesn’t write the cards becomes the envelope-licker and stamp-sticker.

Step 4: Start writing [good tip]
Just like you don't want to open a boring gift, no one wants to read a boring thank-you. Say why you love the item, thank them for their support, or mention something funny, like how they were a dance machine at your reception. If the gift was money, mention how you plan to use it (house down payment, amazing honeymoon). Once it’s signed and sealed, put a fat checkmark next to the guest's name and beg your new spouse for a quickie hand-massage. Phew, just a few more to go!

Reason 1,023 I love being married..

One morning last week, I slept in. (6:07 to be exact!) I hurried with my morning rituals and at one point, opened the door to our bedroom. To my surprise, Jared was standing by the door and startled me very badly! (Not surprising because, I jump very easily. Some even say that I'm "jumpy.") Also, it was very early and I was expecting him to be deeply sleeping. We both laughed and then, he said with a monotone and sarcastic, "Boo." That's good humor that early in the morning, if you ask me.

After Jared found out I was running late, he got my granola bars and pudding packs together and then he went outside to warm up my car. After that, we kissed goodbye. Rumor has it after I left for the day, Jared even made muffins. :)

P.S. Here's reason number 1,024 & 1,025 & 1,026...

Jared doing the dishes :)

Jared chilling with "Little O"

Jared helping Kaden say all of our names. I love it when he says, "Sayya" :)

Dear Lynsey, Jared and I love road trips & I love taking pictures. :)

Little O (& her Mommy and Daddy..)

On Saturday, the Buhler's gave me the opportunity to practice taking family pictures! We had so much fun and Little "O" (as she's called in blogger-world, by her mom & dad) is so adorable. She's also the happiest baby I know.

Jared and I adore her and we're happy to have the Buhler's as our friends!

R.I.P.

For our honeymoon, we took a little vacation
to one of our favorite places, Park City!
We did a lot of shopping, a lot of eating,
& some way fun snowboarding.
We even had a real wood burning fireplace in our condo.

Unfortunately, this is the last picture I had with my board.
While we were in the gondola,
our boards were riding outside, as usual.
When we were over the biggest Valley, a big gust
of wind came and Jared just about saved my board.
But, he couldn't and it fell and fell and fell..
("A" for effort, Jared.) We're planning on going on
a hike in the summer to find it.. :) Until then..
R.I.P.

(Bride and Groom Hats)

ShayLee, this picture is for you.

Because, everytime we went to Einstein's for breakfast.. I saw this sign, thought of you, and laughed. I could imagine perfectly you saying, "Bagel and SHMEAR!", in the accent that you do.

(..and you do it so well.)
