The Haunted Village

On Friday, Jared and I went to the
Haunted Village with Cami and Travis.
It was a great Haunted House and unlike any that I've been to!
Haunted Houses.
This is why I love Halloween.
That and.. the costumes, carving pumpkins, the trick or treating,
the Halloween parties, scarecrows, witches, the memories... :)

Tobler Family Pictures

Last Saturday, I had the opportunity to take pictures of the Tobler Family. Luckily, Jessica brought along her friend, Brock (who also happened to be my brother from trek years ago) to help with the shots that I was in!

Have I mentioned that I love Fall?

Weekend visit from Kristie

Finally, I was able to go up to the mountains to admire the leaves.
Fall is my favorite time of the year!

Bumper Sticker

A good friend gave me this bumper sticker a few weeks ago, in a surprise envelope. A note was attached that said, "Because you love Oregon so much, this is for you. Put it somewhere visible so you can see it daily."
I love this bumper sticker. -It is just too cool to put on my Dodge Neon. Especially with my hopes to sell it, someday (soon). I've yet to figure out the perfect place to stick it to.

Top 10 Things I love about Oregon:
1. Every back road is a beautiful adventure to explore.
2. The Chicken Taco Salad from the Logger.
3. The old houses.
4. The simple things that make life good. (ie. a mailman that walks with a mail bag to deliver to each house. When is the last time you saw a postman do that?)
5. The rain. It suits Oregon well.
6. The flowers.
7. Beach towns.
8. The most delicious candy and ice
cream shops you'll ever encounter.
9. The waterfalls.
10. Halloween time in Oregon. October is the best month to visit. (spooky!)

The Big White Van

This past weekend, my Mother, my Aunt Deanne, and I headed up in an old, big, white van to Astoria, Oregon to visit my Aunt and Grandmother. Also, to bring them the beautiful van seen above. The drive was long, even though I slept for a big part of the time. When we stopped for gas, it didn't start until a prayer was said and we laughed as we decided to not turn off the car again until we got to our destination. When we finally arrived, we went to the Logger -my favorite small town restaurant for my favorite chicken taco salad!

Traditionally, the dictionaries are brought out, and Upwords is played in tournament-like fashion. This trip was no different. I've yet to win a game but, I took second place this trip. I'll take that standing proudly. Especially with my crossword loving aunts playing.

The market in Astoria is always on the agenda because my Aunt Joleen sells her artwork and jewelry there weekly. Here, I found these beautiful bouquets being sold! Can you imagine being surprised by one of these arrangements?! Husbands in the Northwest should be held to a different standard, as far as flower-giving goes.

It is no wonder that my good friend, Kristie -living in Washington, decided to be a florist.

My Aunt Joleen was nice enough to give Jared and I two original paintings for a wedding gift. This is a painting of Haystack rock in Canon Beach, Oregon. The other is of the Peter Iredale shipwreck.
